Change who's driving
Swap the driver of a vehicle — either a manager reassigning it, or a driver picking the vehicle they're in from a shared pool.
"Who's driving" changes in two ways, depending on who's doing it. A manager reassigns a vehicle from one driver to another. A driver picks, for themselves, which vehicle they've got right now — useful when a team shares a pool of vehicles.
A manager reassigns the vehicle
Owners and admins change a vehicle's driver from its profile: tap the Driver card, and the screen opens as Change Driver with the current allocation shown at the top. Pick the new driver and confirm — this ends the previous driver's allocation and starts the new one. It's the same screen as allocating a vehicle, just starting from an existing allocation.
A driver switches their own vehicle
If your business allows it, drivers can change vehicles themselves without waiting for a manager.
From the driver dashboard, tap the plate (or Choose your vehicle if none is assigned yet) to open Change vehicle.
Your current vehicle sits at the top, marked Currently yours. Every other vehicle shows its plate and whether it's Available or with another driver.
Pick one and confirm. Taking a vehicle that's with someone else ends their allocation and their logging, so Axlerun asks you to confirm that specifically. Tap Change vehicle.
Switching vehicle re-points everything from that moment on — trips, fuel and fines all record against the new vehicle. Switch when you actually change cars, not before.
Seeing "Your business has not enabled drivers changing their own vehicle"? That setting is off. An owner or admin can turn it on so drivers can self-select from the shared pool.
See who's in what across the fleet
Driver Allocation on the home dashboard lists every team member with the vehicle they're on (or Unallocated), so you can spot anyone without a vehicle at a glance.
