Turn on tracking & grant permissions

The permissions automatic logging depends on, in the order the app asks for them — and where the on/off control actually lives.

Automatic logging lives or dies by its permissions. Axlerun walks you through them on first run, and you can revisit any of them later. Grant them the way the app suggests at each prompt — the wrong choice looks fine but quietly stops trips.

Grant the three permissions

The setup asks in this order:

  1. Location — pick Always Allow (iPhone) or Allow all the time (Android). Not "while using the app".

  2. Motion — so driving is detected and GPS only runs while moving.

  3. Notifications — for reminders, and on Android to keep logging alive in the background.

Where on/off actually is

There's no standalone "tracking" switch any more — the schedule is the master control. Setting it to Never turns automatic logging off; any other mode turns it on. So if you want to pause logging, that's where you go.

The Trip Logging screen shows each input's state at a glance — Location, Motion Detection, Vehicle, and on Android Battery Optimization and Notifications — so you can see exactly what's still amber.

Set a tracking schedule

If trips still aren't coming through after all this, the step-by-step fixes are in My trips aren't recording.
