Add a vehicle — scan or manual
Add another vehicle by looking up its plate, or type the details in by hand. Here's both ways, and what happens when you hit your plan's vehicle limit.
There are two ways to add a vehicle: look it up from its number plate and let Axlerun fill in the details, or enter everything yourself. The plate lookup is faster and worth trying first — you only fall back to manual entry when the registry doesn't recognise the plate.
If this is the very first vehicle on a brand-new account, the guided first-vehicle setup walks you through the compliance dates as well. This article is the general "add another vehicle" flow.
Look it up from the plate
Open the Vehicles tab and tap the + button.
Type the plate, check the State pill is right, and tap Look Up Vehicle.
On Confirm Vehicle, check what came back from the registry — make, model, year, fuel type, VIN and registration expiry. Fix anything that looks off; the banner reminds you the data is from NEVDIS and should be verified.
Tap Save My Vehicle Details.
If the lookup can't find the plate, an Add manually link appears — tap it to type the details in instead. The one time you won't see that link is when the plate is already in your fleet, because there's nothing to add.
Enter it manually
Manual entry opens on Add Vehicle. Fields without "Optional" are required.
Plate Number and State / Territory.
Make, then Model (the model list unlocks once you've picked a make). Year, Fuel Type and VIN are optional.
Optionally add a Odometer Reading to set the baseline every future reading and trip distance is measured from.
Tap Save Vehicle.
If the + button asks you to upgrade
The free Drive plan covers up to 3 vehicles. At the cap, adding a vehicle shows "You've hit your current plan's vehicle cap" instead of the form. Nothing you already have is affected. An owner can lift the cap by moving to a larger plan; an admin or driver will be asked to check with the business owner.
