Assign a job to a driver and vehicle

Send a scheduled job to a driver–vehicle pair, with a heads-up when their day is already full. Here's how allocation works.

Can't find this in your app? Your business owner can switch the Jobs module off, which hides it for everyone — there's no message when that happens. An owner or admin can turn it back on in Settings → Business settings → Active Modules.

Allocating a job hands it to a specific driver in a specific vehicle. You can only allocate a job once it's scheduled and doesn't already have a driver — a draft has to be scheduled first (see Job status workflow).

Allocate a driver and vehicle

  1. Open the job and tap Allocate driver + vehicle. An unallocated job also shows a red Unallocated pill so it's easy to spot.

  2. Pick a driver–vehicle pair from the list. Each row flags that driver's day — a Free, a job count, or an Overlap warning if it clashes with another job. Overlaps warn; they don't block you.

The job moves to Assigned and the driver can see it.

The list is built from your active driver–vehicle allocations. If it's empty — "No active driver–vehicle allocations" — assign a driver to a vehicle first, from Home → Vehicle Allocation. See Allocate a vehicle to a driver.

Reassign or remove the driver

While a job hasn't started yet, the Assigned to card has a Reassign driver + vehicle button. To pull it back without cancelling, use Remove driver — it returns to Unallocated but stays scheduled, since the work still needs doing. Once a job is under way, the driver and vehicle are locked.
