Roles explained: owner, admin and driver
Axlerun has three roles. Here's exactly what an owner, an admin and a driver can each see and do — and how someone accepts an invite to join.
Two separate things decide what someone can do in Axlerun, and they're easy to mix up:
- Their role — owner, admin or driver — controls who can invite people, manage the fleet and change the plan.
- Your plan — Drive, Cruise or Turbo — controls which features exist at all. That's covered in Choosing your plan.
This article is about roles.
Business owner
The owner is whoever created the account. There's one, and it's the most capable role:
- The only role that can invite an admin.
- The only role that can change the subscription plan.
- Can't be removed from the team.
Business admin
Invited by the owner. The in-app description is "Can manage vehicles, drivers, compliance and view all fleet data."
- Can invite drivers (but not other admins).
- Can be assigned a vehicle, if the owner turns on Can be allocated to vehicle when inviting them.
- Can't change the subscription plan.
Driver
Invited by an owner or admin. The in-app description is "Can log journeys, complete checklists and view their assigned vehicle only."
- Sees their own assigned vehicle, not the whole fleet.
- Can't invite or manage other people — the + button on the team screen isn't shown to drivers.
- Is always assignable to a vehicle, and has a tracking schedule.
If a driver taps into a team or fleet area and gets "You don't have permission", that's this working as intended, not a fault. Drivers are scoped to their own vehicle.
Accepting an invite
When you invite someone, they finish setting themselves up from the invitation email. Here's what they do:
On the login screen they tap Been invited? Accept your invite.
On Accept your invite they enter the email they were invited with and the 6-digit invitation code from the email, then tap Accept Invite.
On Complete your profile their name is already filled in — they add a Mobile number, create a Password, and tap Join the Fleet.
That's it — they land in the app scoped to their role.
