Past logbook periods and re-sending an export

Every window you've exported a logbook from is kept, along with the file that came out of it. Re-download or resend the exact document your accountant was given.

Can't find this in your app? Your business owner can switch the Logbook module off, which hides it for everyone — there's no message when that happens. An owner or admin can turn it back on in Settings → Business settings → Active Modules.

Accountants lose emails. Laptops get replaced at the worst possible moment. When somebody needs the logbook again, you should be handing over the same document you handed over the first time — not a fresh calculation against a logbook that has moved on since.

That's what Logbook periods is for.

What's on the list

Each entry is a window this vehicle has actually kept a logbook for, with the exports produced from it. A period appears here once a document has been made from it — browsing candidate windows doesn't create one.

Open Settings → Reports → FBT Logbook, pick the vehicle and FBT year, then go to Logbook periods.
Choose a period to see its dates, its odometer readings and its export history.
Use Download or Send to get the file again.

Why the re-sent file is the right one

Re-downloading and resending rebuild the document from the snapshot taken when you consented to it. The copy that comes back is the copy that was agreed to — there's no second consent step, and no risk of the numbers having drifted because trips were classified or odometer readings corrected in the meantime.

That matters more than it sounds. A logbook is evidence. Two different files for the same twelve weeks is the thing you least want to explain.

Locked periods

Once a period's export has been downloaded or emailed, the period locks:

You can still edit its notes.
You cannot delete it.

That's deliberate. The record of what you handed over stays intact. A period you never exported from isn't locked and can be removed.

Notes are the place to record which accountant received it and when, or which FBT year it was filed against. Nothing else on a locked period can change, so it's the only field that will still accept context later.
