Registration

Registration is managed through Service NSW under Transport for NSW. Renewals are per vehicle, and a valid CTP green slip and (where required) an eSafety inspection must be in place before rego can be renewed.

CTP (green slip)

NSW runs a competitive CTP market: you buy a green slip from a licensed private insurer separately from rego, for every vehicle, every year. Prices vary between insurers, so fleets can save real money by comparing before each renewal.

Inspections

Light vehicles more than five years old generally need an annual eSafety check ("pink slip") before rego renewal. Heavier vehicles have their own inspection schemes. Miss the inspection and the rego can't be renewed.
